Spring Break Splash

I'm jumping in!  Well... maybe holding onto a paddle and making some waves.  After a few decades of friends telling me I should be a travel agent, here I am!   I get to have an excuse to research new places, exciting events and beautiful new cruise ships.

I think organizing is in my blood... and it's passed onto my 16 year old daughter.  We love to plan things. For 15 years I've been organizing a big event in the nail industry called Nail Camp.  Setting up where we are going, how it's going to work and helping everyone get there.  This year we plan to have an event of about 200, so it will be the biggest one yet.  Hopefully I'll be able to help my friends who fly in book their travel instead of just telling them which flights to choose 🙂

My daughter is in high school and spends most days helping manage the school musical.  Doing the art work, painting the stage and helping get props together.  She's an amazing artist and thankfully also loves to travel!  Currently she's on a trip with my mother back east at Quilt Land USA.   Did you know there was such a place??  I did not.  The quilt gene skipped a generation by the way.  But alas this spring break is my wonderful mother and my daughter exploring Missouri.

I remember when I was a kid and around this time of year was when my mom would finally get a break.  She worked for a CPA so tax season was always busy busy and she finally got to breathe on April 16.  So usually, we would hop in the car the following weekend and road trip out to California to see friends and family.  Those were the good ol days, of reading paper maps, rinsing fresh strawberries from the farm shack in a cup of water and the music playing.

A few years ago our spring break was to Yellowstone.  There is SO much to talk about when it comes to Yellowstone that it will certainly be a post of its own some day!  But that raft up there??  That's me looking at the camera, my husband standing on the left and my feisty thrilled daughter in front.   Its probably one of my favorite photos, she just explodes with happiness.

Where did your spring break take you this year?  Or do you have a favorite spring break memory?
